Parking for patrol members
The new parking arrangements are a de-incentive to anyone wanting to join the club who lives far enough away to drive. Council are effectively profiteering off the good will and generosity of members providing a safe beach to the public. If negotiations with Waverley Council over an acceptable outcome have failed (2x annual club membership for a parking permit is not an acceptable outcome) then we should be taking this to the press and our local member and patron.
What is to happen regarding the parking spots near the old boomgate that are marked for the Surf club?
I propose we canvass our membership with a survey to identify how many people need to drive to patrol so we are better informed of the potential impact.
Hi Donovan, you make some valid points here regarding the parking situation. Is it possible that you can put together a plan and a proposal so that the board can discuss the option of sending it to Council?

I Agree with Donovan. As an out of area patroller who increasingly finds the traffic to the beach frustrating, the procedures and cost to get the parking ticket is a real test to ones commitment to the Club. Yes the Council is making money from volunteers. Please lets look at the % of out of area patrollers. This could be done via the data base I suspect. It will force some of us to rethink a shift to a closer club.
