Recognise Consistent Patrolling Members
Currently you do your BM then at 10 years you stop patrolling - it's kind of odd nothing is recognized in the interim - and the incentive to keep going is to stop - so, we could establish "BM class of 2015" (as applicable) we can have patches or pin-badges made up to be attached to patrol or jerseys or hats.
We can also create season badges - so at the end of each season you get another pin.
This will help "recognize" contribution but will also help identify who on the beach is experienced etc
Similarly we should do same for awards - let's face it often we patrol with people we don't know and who knows what quals they have - some sort of badge would help.
had an incident on Saturday where there were a bunch of guys (out of uniform were tending to patient) - they didn't id themselves and it was pretty odd trying to work out if I should assert my self more in the treatment - some thing's I would have been doing different - they also didn't know if I was a newbie or veteran .... Some sort of visual id would help them id me even if they didn't id themselves
Great idea Doron. We can put it to the committee and take it from there
